The history of why.
To fully understand our vision for the creation of the site, it might be helpful to understand why we created this site.
I frequently go out to certain of my own anchorages around Phuket and sometimes I go to some that I have been before but it has been a while since I last was there. Like most other skippers, I will quickly go look at the chart, then go look at the weather forecast, then the tides, then the radar image for the area. If it is one that I am not familiar with then I will go and look at the satellite imaging of the area. This usually leaves me with a range of tabs open on my browser. Depending on any of the information that I see, I might want to check if another anchorage will maybe better. Hence I start the whole process again.
So being somewhat of a technical guy with experience with websites, I got the idea that there might be a better way. I searched and yet I have not found anything that combines all of these features. So I wanted to create it.
When the restrictions started in the early parts of 2020, I started to seriously work on finding a solution and putting it all together. I saw a couple of my Facebook friends post some beautiful pictures of some of their anchorages. So the idea was born to create my solution for anyone that would like to have a similar solution.
What we plan for the future.
- Our vision is to create a worldwide anchorage, mooring balls, and marinas available for everyone.
- Make it easy for people to share it on social media sites
- Sell enough advertisement that we do not have to charge for membership to the site.
- Make it possible for fellow yachtsmen and women that put the effort in to put their spots in to earn revenue from the ads on their spots.
- Give local business that is supportive of the yachting community an affordable and focused advertisement platform.
- We plan to grow with the needs of our members.
- Post very informative articles for our members to enjoy.
